Participation Resource Centre
incorporating the collection of IIED
The Participation Resource Centre is a collection of over 5,000 documents, many of them unpublished and practitioner-based, about participatory approaches to development. They include research reports, training manuals, workshop reports and critical reflections on Participation. Information about each document can be searched on-line.
The Centre particularly promotes Participatory Methodologies, sharing practical examples from development initiatives around the world in the form of case studies, guides and manuals.
The collection is held at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex and incorporates the collection of the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). To read more about the Participation Resource Centre visit the Participation.net homepage.
Finding your way around the collection
There are two straightforward ways to search the database, please select simple or advanced search and follow instructions:
Accessing the documents
- In person. The Centre is open Monday to Friday, from 9-30am to 5.00pm but is staffed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only. Please ring +44 (0) 1273 915879 to let us know you are coming.
- Remotely. Wherever possible information is provided on the record to guide you to a source for the document. If you experience difficulty obtaining a document from the provided source please contact us and we will try to help.
Contributing to the Collection
We aim to keep the Resource Centre up-to-date and diverse so if you have documents, books, or CDRoms on your experiences of participation to share we are always pleased to receive them at the address below.
